British weather photographer of the year competition


Check out this cool photography competition to find the best British Weather Photographer of the year. The photographer who manages to capture the best dazzling British weather scene as voted by you, the public, will win £10,000!

To enter the competition and be crowned British weather photographer of the year, participants must submit their photos capturing British weather to the Lloyds TSB website.

The overall winner will be picked on the basis of flair, technique and originality. The entries will be judged by a leading panel of meteorologists and photographers.

The competition will run from April 13th 2010 till September 30th 2010. Take a look at entries submitted so far:

What's so cool about this photography competition?
One of the coolest features of this competition is the location map where you can browse the UK and look at photos from specific areas. We are based in Cornwall so it was really cool looking at the pictures from Cornwall.
We entered the competition with a few of our Cornish photos so fingers crossed!

For the snow category, we submitted this picture of Kennel Vale Woods in Ponsanooth, Cornwall on a rare winter day.


For the sunshine category, we submitted this picture from Gwythian beach in Cornwall taken this summer.
What else is cool about this photography competition? £100 weekly prize too! All visitors can vote for their favorite photographs and each week the one with the most votes wins £100. See your shot exhibited The photos taken by the 12 lucky finalists will be put in a public exhibition for a week before the overall winner of £10,000 is announced. Competition Info
  • The competition runs from 13th April to 30th September 2010, with judging of the 12 finalists taking place in November
  • Photographs must be taken in the UK
  • Entrants can submit as many photographs as they wish
  • Entrants are required to: be 18 or over be a UK resident have the right to use the images
