It rarely snows in Athens, Greece, but when it does it looks pretty amazing. Large swaths of Greece have recently been hit by sub-zero temperatures and heavy snowfall. The mediterranean is generally warm in winter months, similar to southern California in climate and therefore snow is a rare phenomenon but 2017 has already experienced out of the ordinary weather conditions across Europe. The freezing weather has already claimed 60 lives across Europe already.
